black and white porcelain.

i have a horrible secret (what i consider one of my downfalls)....late night Ebay shopping. i tend to go through phases of excessive Ebay shopping. the good thing is practically everything on Ebay is reasonably priced, so i don't feel bad in the morning when i wake up and remember everything i bought the night before. i fell in love with this porcelain print sweater the minute i saw it, and for $18 you can't beat the price or quality. the best part about it is that you can wear it with practically anything in your closet! see sometimes late night online shopping is not such a bad thing..

having to live out of a suitcase is one of the most challenging things, especially when you depend on having all your cute shoes...AT ALL TIMES (i packed 6 pairs..call me crazy, but i can't live without them) this weekend the boyfriend and i are traveling down South to visit his family and check out where we will be living for the next three years..so i packed as many basics as i could. i love basics, because i could dress them up or down for whatever the occasion. this outfit was perfect for a chilly autumn Saturday morning, but change the shorts to a skirt and you have the perfect outfit for out to lunch or shopping!

leopard love.

top: Target - (here)
scarf: Ebay - (here)
shoes: Loft (old) - similar (here) and (here)
nails: OPI Gargantuan Green Grapes

i've never met a leopard print i didn't like, but if i had to pick one item this scarf would be it. it has been in my closet for over 4 years and it is one of my staples...i grab it every time i need to spruce up an outfit. i paired it with this skirt, which is now on sale at Target. i have practically been wearing it all summer with everything from denim shirts to lightweight neon sweaters. this outfit is a perfect example of putting some of my favorite basics together for a casual, but fun afternoon.

if you were to look into my closet you would find everything from skirts and blazers to scarves and shoes covered in every kind of stripe. from awning stripes to candy stripes...you'll be able to find it in my closet. over the years stripes have become my personal security blanket...and i've learned that no matter what the situation is you are always safe in them. lately my favorite look has been to mix stripes on stripes with a pop of color. so go ahead and try it....and remember stripes are the way to go...from the boardroom to the street, you just can't go wrong!
